Little Miss Lulu
So last Saturday evening Lulu and Finn were skyping with Papa while I was folding clothes in the bedroom. All of a sudden I hear a loud "boom" and come running. Lulu of course had fallen. She was standing on her Stokke chair and slipped, Markus unfortunately had to witness this all, as he was watching over the computer. She hits her head a lot, she's part monkey and she tries desperately to compete with 4 year old Finn. So I am always afraid she has a concussion when she falls, this time she really did. Right after she fell she wanted to watch "Little Bear", I sat and watched with her and she seemed sleepy, I decided I wanted to get her checked out. As soon as I called Kim, my neighbor, to watch Finn, Lulu started throwing up. And then I lost it, aren't Mom's the ones who are supposed to tell you everything will be Okay? Well not this one, poor Lulu was crying with me, saying "Mama, why are you crying?" Anyway some how we made it through. The Dr. didn't feel she needed a CT, he didn't want to expose her to the radiation. We were there for a couple hours, towards the end, she was taking off her I.D. bracelet, ready to go home. That night she woke up around 2am starving, so we sat together on the floor and ate Graham Crackers.
She is absolutely fine, however sufferning some of the symptoms of a person who has had head trauma. She's not sleeping well, but during the day she's still the same ol' monkey she always is and tries to keep up with her brother as usual. At first I was just happy she seemed to be normal, now I am petrified she is going to hit her head again and suffer the Second Injury Syndrome. Thank God, Grandma decided to come down and help me keep Lulu calm for the next 7 days til her brain has had a chance to heal. At the moment this is what is keeping me busy and is on my mind. Knitting while my little ones are asleep and looking forward to fun packages coming in the mail, Knit Picks, Ravelry, are keeping me sane.
